Look Your Best
Let’s face it, everyone wants to look and feel his/her best. Society is all about aesthetics and there’s nothing wrong with that because if you look good then you usually feel good. While there are a number of different exercises and training routines that promise to deliver favorable results, resistance training is the best tool one can use to non-surgically improve how you look. Resistance training is an ideal way to tone up because it allows you to:
- Drop body fat
- Gain muscle mass
- Tone up physique
Losing weight is not enough since if one loses weight without some resistance training he/she will still have a soft look. There is no magical process whereby the fat can be toned and turned into muscle. Resistance training helps attack and condition the muscle tissue of the body. A popular tool among athletes and gymnasts, resistance training is an exercise routine that is a must for anyone looking to tone up.
Have The Right Tools
Before starting to gear up for resistance training it’s important that one has the right equipment on hand. Resistance training doesn’t have to be just about lifting weights in the form of dumbbells and barbells. There are numerous resistance training tools on the market today. These tools can be very useful and allow the trainee the option of training almost anywhere. Some of the best tools include: barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, and resistance bands. All of these apparatuses are beneficial tools to help one tone up and are some of the most versatile pieces of equipment to use which means one will certainly be able to get the most value for their money. Not only that but these pieces of equipment are also durable so they will last a long time.
Body Weight Is King
While it is necessary to have some equipment on hand to aid you in your resistance training, some of the best tools to help you tone up is simply your own body weight. Body weight exercises can be difficult for many to master, but the benefits of doing body weight exercises are enormous not to mention that all one really needs is a small amount of space to get in a great training session or workout.
Performing chin-ups, pull-ups and dips are excellent ways to tighten up your core. Equipment wise, all that is needed for these exercises is a bar or apparatus that will hold your body weight. You can be creative with this and use bars that already naturally exist such as the monkeybars at a local playground or a pull-up bar at your local gym. If those are not options, there are many resistance training bars that can be easily attached to a doorway in your home. It’s important to just make sure the bar is secured tightly since you don’t want it to come loose, which would cause you to hurt yourself.
Where To Find
Many of the resistance training accessories can be easily found at any gym, local sporting goods store or even on the Internet. Some equipment can be harder to find than others. For example a simple dumbbell, floor mat or medicine ball are usually in stock at a number of stores, but the less common items such as a speed vest or power harness may take some digging to find.
Since the equipment that is needed is not all that cumbersome in nature, it’s typically not that pricey. That said, it’s still best for one to do some consumer shopping prior to deciding to purchase since there are definitely certain stores or websites that sell for less.
